Review: Fort Collins: A History

Fort Collins: A History Fort Collins: A History by Barbara Fleming
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Highly recommended if you have any ties and/or interest in Fort Collins. Many interesting tidbits about the city.

Some of my notes:
The city was named after William Collins. His son's name was Caspar, after whom Casper, Wyoming was named.
The first wedding in Larimer county was on New Year's Day, 1862. The probate judge wasn't there, so his brother performed the ceremony. When the groom demanded a Bible, he ran inside and grabbed his Works of Shakespeare, which seemed to work.
The first kindergarten west of the Mississippi was here.
Lady Catherine Moon, an eccentric lady, had a great story (P. 64)
